Statement of Purpose

Established in 2002, the Institute of Complex Scientific Software (ICSS) is working to dramatically improve the ways in which a broad range of software expertise can be combined with groundbreaking scientific applications. As an active collaboration of computer scientists and engineers, natural scientists, and electrical engineers, we are working to create reliable, efficient, extensible software and hardware tools for scientific computing. By applying our methods to fields as diverse as proteomics, medical imaging, and particle physics, we are also developing a generalizable process for designing and building complex scientific software.

ICSS provides a vibrant research environment. We also invite participation from undergraduates, graduates, post-graduates and industry.
